Suay Kyar is a studious and determined migrant student from Laikha Township of Shan State. She was born into a farming family and raised in Laikha till she was around 10 years old before migrating to Thailand. There are 4 members in her family, her parents, elder brother, and herself. As a child of farmers, she was familiar with agricultural work since she was still a little kid…..

Even though there were several limitations and difficulties, but because of her eagerness to learn, she decided to apply to Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna majoring in Architecture (interior design) by spending all her savings on tuition fees and other relevant expenses which was enough for one semester only. Subsequently, she was in trouble because she couldn’t find any funding sources and couldn’t afford her 2nd semester’s educational expenses by herself. She then applied for a partial scholarship and partial interest-free student loan from Kwah Dao. After collecting all the needed information regarding her family background, previous academic records, behavior, and other necessary facts Kwah Dao Scholarship Selection Committee deemed that she was one of the migrant students who needed urgent assistance. Hence, she was awarded a partial scholarship and approved a partial interest-free student loan that covered her tuition fees, living expenses, and other relevant educational expenses. She is currently studying 1st year, 2nd semester majoring in Architecture (interior design) at Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Chiang Mai.
